MEET | @carries_colourful_casa

At Curateology, we love celebrating the designers, creators and interiors influencers who share our passion for colour, individuality and expressive living. This month, we’re excited to spotlight @carries_colourful_casa — a joyful celebration of bold colour, creative upcycling and personality-filled interiors.

After more than 10 years working in travel, Carrie stepped away from her career following the birth of her second daughter. While she originally planned to return to work, life evolved differently.

“I spend a lot of time being creative in my home because I love to,” Carrie explains. “I do what works for me and my family and you should do the same — whatever that looks like!”

Carrie’s home is filled with fearless colour combinations, upcycled furniture, playful textiles and clever budget-friendly styling ideas that prove impactful interiors do not need to come with a luxury price tag.

From forest green and bubblegum pink walls to royal blue shelving, colourful tiles and statement kitchen cabinetry, every space is layered with warmth, creativity and personality.

Her home is a reminder that interiors should feel personal, uplifting and lived in — a true reflection of the people who inhabit them.

Thank you, Carrie, for inspiring the Curateology community with your creativity, authenticity and fearless use of colour.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE COLOURS IN YOUR HOME?

Blue and green - I’ve used them in most of the rooms in some way, big or small. I also love the Yellow pops in my kitchen. I love bright colours but often combine them with more muted or pastel tones.

WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY IN YOUR HOME?

There is something in every room that brings me joy! My yellow sofa - especially after 15 years of a grey one. My dream blue kitchen - the cabinets are a custom colour. My log burner in winter.

WHAT SMALL CHANGES CAN WE ALL MAKE WITHIN OUR INTERIORS THAT WOULD HAVE THE BIGGEST IMPACT?

It’s amazing what hanging something on the wall can do to a space! A painting or print, some plates or whatever can really make a difference. Small pops of colour in a room - even a neutral one - can elevate the space.

WHERE DO YOU TYPICALLY SOURCE OR THRIFT FURNITURE AND OBJECTS FOR UPCYCLING?

Facebook marketplace is my favourite place. So much good furniture going free or cheap especially compared to secondhand shops and it usually saves it from landfill too. I’ve constantly got my eye out for what is available in my local area.
